Sharing our project at a virtual Civic University Network showcase event

We were delighted to recently attend a virtual Civic University Showcase event hosted by the Civic University Network. The role of the Civic University Network is to support universities in developing and embedding civic aspirations at an institutional level, as well as working with government and strategic partners to ensure that a university’s geographic role and responsibility is used more effectively as an agent to drive positive societal change.

The event gave us the opportunity to showcase our innovative, collaborative partnership between Derbyshire Voluntary Action and the University of Derby, which brings together Chesterfield’s community organisations and the University together to strengthen the local health and social care sector.

We, along with other universities engaged in civic work, were able to discuss the civic work that we are undertaking, including what is going well and the challenges that we are facing.

Here is the video of the presentation delivered by our Project manager, Jenny, and Claire Carter, Senior Lecturer and Business Relationship Manager at the University of Derby.
