Standing Together in the Wake of Flooding: A Message of Support to Derbyshire Communities

Last weekend, Derbyshire experienced severe flooding that impacted numerous communities across the region. During these challenging times, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the flooding, and we want to convey a message of care and solidarity.

The flooding has disrupted lives, homes, businesses, and daily routines, leaving many residents and communities facing daunting challenges. In times like these, it is crucial that we come together as a community to provide support and assistance to those who need it most.

If you or someone you know has been affected by the recent flooding, we encourage you to reach out to your communities, friends, and neighbours. Your network of support is a valuable resource, and by extending a helping hand, we can collectively navigate the difficult road to recovery.

Support for Those Impacted

For those impacted by the flooding, it's essential to know that help and support are available. The Government has announced support for areas hit by the floods to help communities and businesses recover from the devastating impact of Storm Babet. Funds will be available through the Flood Recovery Framework and you can find out more about it and other local support available through Derbyshire County Council and the Government’s response to the emergency here.

Community Resilience

In the face of adversity, the resilience of Derbyshire communities is truly remarkable. Many have already rallied together, offering help, resources, and a shoulder to lean on. This sense of unity and shared purpose is what makes our communities so strong.

Lifehouse Church on Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield in partnership with Toby Perkins MP, and other local charities, agencies, and businesses are already meeting the challenge head on. Providing food, cleaning supplies, pitching in, and leading a huge fundraising effort to help get people back in their homes and on their feet. Whatever you can spare, check out the fundraiser here, and be it money, time, or just sharing the campaign if you can do just a little, between us it will go a long way.

Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by the recent flooding, and we stand ready to support one another as we move forward. In times of crisis, the strength of community shines brightest. Together, we will weather this storm and emerge stronger on the other side.
